I have been pondering and praying over whether or not to write this blog and include it on my dad's campaign web page. Not that there is any question over whether or not I want to share my story because I am eager to do that, I just don't ever want my purpose to be misinterpreted for something other than a very powerful testimony and a miracle in the life of my family. After much consideration, I feel led to share this with you, in hopes of saving a life and emphasizing the power of prayer.

"Papa," my 4-year-old son bellowed out the front door on a Friday evening. "Why you got those 'crunches' on?" he asked with a puzzled look on his face. I looked out the front door to discover the outline of a 6 ft. 7in. figure, slowly making his way toward our house in the dark with the assistance of two lengthy crutches, shuffling and stopping, and shuffling again. It took quite a while for my father to travel down our 75 ft sidewalk and through the front door before my children were climbing on him and begging to borrow his 'crunches'. It made no difference that he had just been blessed with a herniated disk and his steps were not much larger than a shuffle. He hadn't seen the kids in a couple of days and he was far overdue for some serious "Papa kisses"!
